No matter your experience level, our music programs welcome everyone. With dedicated Director’s, teachers, professional, and supportive classmates, you’ll be surprised at how quickly you progress.
San Marcos High School is one of two comprehensive high schools in the San Marcos Unified School District located in North San Diego County. The music tradition at SMHS reaches back to the opening of the school in 1961 and began with a small winds program. Today, the music program encompasses four wind ensembles, three jazz bands, percussion ensembles, chamber ensembles, choir, the Axiom performance ensemble, digital music, 3 color guards, and the Knight Regiment marching band.
Parents and Guardians: Imagine the joy of your child’s face as they master a new melody, gain confidence on stage, or discover a lifelong passion for music. You can help make that a reality! Our music program thrives with the support of parent volunteers like you. Every hour you contribute brings valuable resources to our students, enriching their musical journey.
