San Marcos Bands student performs with the Honor Orchestra of America
Chelsea Strayer made her second appearance this year with the National Honor Orchestra of America was performed as the Assistant Principal Bassist. The National Honor Orchestra (an audition-based orchestra comprised of the finest high school musicians in the country) was led by Conductor Larry K. Livingston (Thornton School of Music – University of Southern California) and performed 2 concerts in Indianapolis, Indiana as part of the Music for All National Festival.
Chelsea Strayer is a Senior at San Marcos High School, is a member of the Conservatory for Leadership & the Arts, and performs in the Wind Symphony. Additionally, she has performed with the Axiom Performance Ensemble and the Knight Regiment Marching Band, plays in the jazz band, and also plays locally in the Civic Youth Orchestra. Chelsea has performed in the All-State and All-Southern Honor Bands and has studied double bass with Gunner Biggs and with David Young at the Colburn school.
